IT Equipment Lending

We have a limited number of laptops and Sony digital audio recorders available for MCR members to borrow.

These are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis for a period of up to two weeks; after that period, the loan may be renewed if the laptop hasn’t been requested by another member. There is no charge for this scheme. Each item can be booked through this page. Booking implies you read and accepted the lending terms and conditions of the lending scheme.

The MCR Computer Clerk is responsible of running the loan of IT equipment. He will leave the IT item booked in the lodge for you to collect on the day of the lent start usually before midday and however not later than 8pm. Return of the IT equipment must be done before 8pm on the final day of the booking. The item should be returned at the lodge for the MCR Computer Clerk to collect. Late returns will be fined as from the terms and conditions.

It might not be the last model but the long life of Apple products still makes this laptop better than most of the newest Windows powered machines. Ideal as a temporary substitute of your broken laptop ensuring both reliability and quality.

This laptop is a hybrid between a tablet and a notebook. You can write easily on it with the extended keyboard and immediately turn it into a tablet by turning the screen and closing it. It is really good for carrying it in your bag and using it to give presentation.

We do have four audio recorders for students to borrow them. You might want to use them if you have to interview people for your thesis, or if you fear to miss something of that really important talk, from now on you won’t miss a word!
You can also download the manual of the audio recorder here.
